Information Minister, Chernor Bah Accused of Doctoring ICC Memo

Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Political analyst, Alpha Bah, in a tweet claimed that the minister is guilty of a “weak cover-up”. “The leaked memo, which bears the date 18/8/23, can be identified as the genuine document, whereas the minister’s manipulated version is fraudulently dated 23/8/23,” Alpha Bah said.

He also branded the Information Minister to be deceptive with an intention to “mislead the public”. The Information Minister, however, discarded the allegation affirming his commitment to serve the nation with good intent.

He cautioned the political analyst not to brand him as deceptive. “Bra let’s disagree but let’s don’t accuse each other without proof of being criminals.

“I’ll never fake a document.

“I’ll never ever do that.

“I have a reputation of over 25 years of working to do good in my country and the world,” the Information Minister said. Social media was flooded over the weekend with a leaked memo which indicated that President Julius Maada Bio has been invited by the ICC.

Official sources, initially, did not confirm the invite -leaving room for speculation that the August 18 memo was doctored by Bio’s opponents. But the country’s Strategic Communications Unit on Thursday August 24 clarified in a tweet that the ICC did invite the Bio for a meeting.

The tweet was posted with a memo dissimilar with that of the August 18 memo. The difference left speculation among some locals especially Mr. Bio’s opponents that the latter was doctored.
