Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The Healing Jesus Campaign, led by internationally renowned evangelist and author, Dag Heward-Mills, is poised to return to Sierra Leone from 29th April to 3rd May, 2025.
The anticipated five-day spiritual event is scheduled to take place at the Freetown Teacher’s Training College Field in Jui, aimed to draw thousands from across the nation and beyond.
The announcement was made during a press conference held on the 4th April, 2025, at the Methodist Conference Hall in Freetown, where Bishop Abu Koroma, Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the campaign, emphasized the significance of the upcoming events. He described the campaign as “a divine visitation for Sierra Leone,” and urged citizens to prepare for “miracles, healing, deliverance, and salvation.”
Report confirmed that Heward-Mills, founder of the United Denominations Originating from the Lighthouse Group of Churches (UDOLGC), has an extensive history of healing crusades across 38 countries, resulting in over 10.5 million documented decisions for Christ, confirming that his ministry has been characterized by miraculous healings, leading to widespread transformation among participants.
Bishop Abu confirmed that the Healing Jesus Campaign will feature five nights of revival meetings alongside a three-day Pastors and Leaders Conference aimed at empowering Christian leaders for effective ministry. “This campaign is open to people of all faiths and backgrounds,” Bishop Koroma stated, affirming that, “our goal is to unite the Body of Christ and foster moral and spiritual transformation in Sierra Leone.”
Starting each night at 5:00 PM, according to Bishop Koroma, the revival meetings welcome everyone, while the Pastors and Leaders Conference will be held from 30th April to 2nd May from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Flaming Evangelical Ministries on Syke Street. Adding that r he conference will feature two registration options: a standard fee of 50 Leones and a Makarios registration fee of 600 Leones, which includes access to the conference along with 50 books authored by Dag Heward-Mills.
“While our focus is on the gospel of Jesus Christ, all other blessings, such as healing and miracles, are side benefits,” stated Schwarts Ebo Ankrah, the International Director for the campaign. He noted that the main purpose of the event is proclaiming the Gospel, emphasizing that the campaign is a non-denominational event and is open to all.
Ankrah addressed the importance of unity among various Christian organizations for the campaign’s success. He highlighted the campaign’s non-exclusive nature, inviting all who seek healing or transformation regardless of religious background. “When you go to the hospital, you don’t ask if the doctor is a Muslim, Hindu, or Christian. You go because you need healing,” he said, extending the invitation broadly to the public.
He also mentioned that there might be an opportunity for Heward-Mills to meet with the President of Sierra Leone as part of the campaign’s outreach efforts to national leadership. “We pray for the Government and its institutions. Our role as the church is to support and uplift through prayer and unity,” Ankrah noted.
In addressing potential misunderstandings about the campaign’s title, Ankrah clarified, “We are not saying we are healing Jesus. The name ‘Healing Jesus Campaign’ helps distinguish the miracle-working, saving Jesus Christ from others who share similar names.”
