Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Ernest Bai Koroma had for long enjoyed the grace and favour of the rank and file of the APC to an extent that he was hero worshipped as a skilful footballer, a World Class master tactitian and the World Best at politics. All of his accolades have now been put under the microscope and what is being discovered is not pleasing to the eye.
Many of those who had touted his legacy now question the very essence of that term. What legacy can a failed politician who handed over power to his opponent claim? Now we hear the same man who was praised as the savior of democracy and good governance attesting to a mantra of the fox and the grapes he now realises he would never again have.
How can a politician of stature say that he would not want a country he had led for 11 years if given to him for free? Why didnt Ernest Koroma make the boast that whatever state Sierra Leone has been made to suffer, he was the man well suited to correct the wrongs and bring the country back to its former glory? Or for that matter state that it is only the APC that can make the country better?
It is funny to see how Maada Bio has caused the greatest harm to EBK even though it was EBK who held his hand and gave him power in 2018. Truth be told, Maada operated on the information he had and the demonstrable fact that a united APC will always defeat the SLPP and that was why he had to set EBK up and have him implicated in a coup d’etat. Maada knows that EBK had the charisma to unite the APC and help bring it back to power but Koroma on the other hand has shown his human frailty by succumbing to the allure of power over the pragmatic reality of his situation.
He has failed to support the truth of an egregious fraud against the APC and Samura Kamara for hia own selfish reasons. He never wanted Samura to win an election and become a successful head of state in the same way that a united APC would disregard him and refuse to bow to him after he ceases to be the party leader. Ernest Koroma needs the APC to be weak and ineffective before he can be seen as a good leader and that is his present undoing!
He is like the dog with a bone in its mouth, watching another dog in a well of water with a bone in it’s mouth. The dog failed to realize that he was watching his own shadow and so his greed caused him to bark at the other dog in the well, thereby losing his bone. EBK is now looking extremely vengeful and desperate to have done an audio that he knew was always going to be leaked on social media.
Ernest Koroma wanted to go viral and he did but for the most absurd of reasons. He had always held himself above the fray but this desperate act to discredit Samura Kamara has backfired big time. Now all his vuvuzelas are left with is the fact that Samura Kamara met with Bio after being invited to meet with him? How many politicians would refuse an invitation to State House or State Lodge and why would Fatima Bio openly challenge APC NAC members of visiting her husband at State Lodge if they had not gone there to curry favour? The strength of Samura Kamara’s character has overwhelmed his detractors and for them to have wheeled out EBK who decided to condescend to do such an audio shows nothing but a mark of desperation.
This in itself is another failed coup that EBK has been found to be at the centre. It is a shame that a man with such lofty ideals can be reduced to such nothingness. So now we all know what was discussed during the meeting with Minkailu, Yansanneh and Tunis in Abuja – they realized that Samura Kamara’s support in the party is so strong that only such an audio from Ernest himself that was designed to paint Samura Kamara as an ungrateful person would reduce his standing.
How wrong have they been proven to have been because Samura Kamar now enjoys more sympathy from those who now see that Ernest Koroma has been complicit in the Electoral injustice that now plagues Sierra Leone!
