Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The Sierra Leone Ports and Harbours Authority (SLPHA), led by Director-General Yankuba Askia Bio, is executing strategic initiatives to boost port security and enhance the user experience at the Port of Freetown.
Two major projects are now on its way to transforming the car park into a cutting- edge parking facility and building a spacious, comfortable waiting room for visitors and port users. The Ports Engineering Services Department is directed by Director Lansana Sheriff, and oversees all these activities.
These developments, according to reports, centered on the footbridge area, and aim to improve security by giving a controlled environment in which access is restricted to authorized personnel while safeguarding vehicles and equipment and assuring sufficient identity verification.
SLPHA actively works to prevent unwanted entrance and protect the safety of all port users. Once completed, these facilities will not only increase the Port’s functionality but also show SLPHA’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards in port operations.
The Port of Freetown is so important to country’s international trade that ensuring a safe and inviting environment for importers and the business community is always a top priority.
SLPHA continues to face security concerns straight on, paving the road for a safer, more efficient, and user-friendly port environment for all.
