Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Myk Berewa, Director of Communications in the Office of the President, made a statement on his official Facebook account that has drawn attention ahead of the 2028 elections.
In his post, Berewa took aim at the opposition All People’s Congress (APC), saying, “Judging by their 2028 noisy presidential hopefuls, the APC appears unready for leadership.”
He continued with a warning to the opposition party, writing, “With what am seeing we’re definitely going to crush them if they ‘stood’ our way.”
The APC is one of Sierra Leone’s two major political parties, alongside its main rival, the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP). The APC has been the main opposition since April 2018, when SLPP’s Julius Maada Bio won the presidential election. The party currently holds seats in parliament.
The post, shared on his personal Facebook page, comes as attention on the 2028 presidential election grows. No official response from the APC has been released at the time of this report.
