Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The Deputy Commissioner General of the National Revenue Authority (NRA), Mrs. Ann-Marie Baby Harding, has spoken on the closure of the Electricity Distribution Supply Authority (EDSA) earlier today Thursday, 24th April 2025.
The closure of EDSA was as a result of non-compliance of tax payments to the authority.
Mrs. Harding, NRA Deputy Commissioner General has disclosed that the decision to close down EDSA came after EDSA failed to attend a meeting scheduled for April 23rd 2025 after notification from the previous week.
According to Mrs. Harding, EDSA absence was not just negligent, it was reckless and disrespectful to national institutions.
“EDSA was officially notified last week to attend a meeting scheduled for April 23rd or face closure. EDSA failed to show up. The Electricity Generation and Transmission Company (EGTC), however, did attend and as a result, their doors remain open. EDSA’s absence was not just negligent; it was reckless and disrespectful to national institutions.”
