The Sierra Leone U-20 national team held an important pre-tournament meeting with officials from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) at the Mercure Hotel in Ismailia, where the team is currently staying in preparation for the TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
The meeting, organized by the CAF General Coordinator, provided a comprehensive overview of tournament rules, player eligibility criteria, match protocols, and disciplinary actions. Officials emphasized the necessity for the team to uphold principles of fair play and professionalism throughout the tournament.
The CAF Safety and Security Officer stressed the importance of accreditation badges and bibs, which are essential for safety and access control at match venues and training grounds.
In addition, a representative from CAF TV outlined media rights and filming guidelines, ensuring clarity and protection of broadcasting rights during the event.
The session concluded with insights from the Referees Assessor, who highlighted the significance of discipline, respect for officials, and cooperation with referees to ensure fair and smooth matches.
The day also featured a CAF Media Day, where the Sierra Leone U-20 team participated in official photoshoots and video shoots, creating digital content for CAF’s social media and promotional campaigns.
