Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Mohamed K. Mansaray, the former presidential candidate of the Alliance Democratic Party (ADP), has publicly urged President Julius Maada Bio to cease actions against the family of the late Momoh Konteh.
Kamarainba alleges that the government is attempting to seize Konteh’s house, located on Robot Street in Freetown, and claims that it has already been taken by authorities.
In a heartfelt appeal, Kamarainba referenced a video of Konteh’s mother pleading for the preservation of her late son’s legacy and home. “I ask you to leave this woman in the house that her son left her,” he stated, drawing parallels to his own experiences during his four-year imprisonment at Pademba Road Prison. Kamarainba recounted the emotional toll this took on his mother, who sought help from the media on his behalf and ultimately passed away due to the stress and despair she faced.
Kamarainba expressed his deep empathy for Konteh’s mother, stating, “I understand the pain she is going through.” He urged President Bio to show compassion and allow her to remain in her home, asserting, “Leave this old woman at the house and do not suppress her.”
Before his untimely death, Momoh Konteh was a prominent figure in Sierra Leonean politics, serving as the Chairman of the APC Koinadugu District and the former Chairman of the National Telecommunications Company (NATCO). He was widely respected and known as the “APC Lion of Koinadugu.”
Kamarainba concluded his remarks with a poignant warning, saying, “Power will eventually fade; this is too much and enough.”
