Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara (JFK), the All People’s Congress (APC) flagbearer aspirant for the upcoming 2028 national elections, has pledged to prioritize the needs of Sierra Leoneans as he embarks on his campaign.

Following his recent comments, JFK emphasized the struggles faced by citizens across the nation, from urban centres like Freetown to the most remote villages.

“Each time I walk through our communities, I am reminded of the harsh truth of our nation’s struggle,” JFK stated. He described witnessing “pain” and “exhaustion” on the faces of the people, highlighting the dire economic conditions many families endure.

“Mothers look into empty pots, wondering how to feed their children. Fathers struggle through each day without work, robbed of dignity and purpose,” he said.

JFK expressed deep concern for the youth, who he believes are trapped in a cycle of idleness due to circumstances beyond their control. “Their eyes are shadowed with frustration and forgotten dreams,” he noted, adding that even the laughter of children has diminished in many areas.

The aspirant for leadership emphasized that true governance requires presence and engagement with the populace. “True leadership does not reside behind closed doors or in air-conditioned offices. It lives and breathes among the people,” JFK remarked.

He reiterated his commitment to being a visible and active participant in the lives of Sierra Leoneans, stating, “I walk these streets not merely as a politician, but as a concerned Sierra Leonean.”

Despite the challenges, JFK acknowledged the resilience of the people. “Even in the darkest corners, I see signs of strength. I see people who wake up each day and try again,” he said, expressing hope and determination to improve the lives of his fellow citizens.

JFK outlined his vision for the future, which includes creating jobs, providing quality education, and offering support for those battling addiction. “We must restore dignity to our communities,” he asserted, emphasizing that the people of Sierra Leone deserve more than mere survival. “They deserve justice, joy, and opportunity, and I am here to deliver that joy,” he added.

JFK vowed to remain present and engaged with the people, promising not to rest until his ideals become a reality for every Sierra Leonean. “I will not rest until those ideals are more than promises,” he stated passionately.
