ACC Investigates Revenue Diversion at NRA

Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), in a press release dated 24 June 2025, informed the public that it has taken over from the Sierra Leone Police investigation concerning alleged revenue diversion at the National Revenue Authority (NRA).

According to ACC, the decision was made after seeing a press release from NRA dated 20th June 2025 signed by its Commissioner General, which states that the alleged fraudulent scheme involves “the collusion of certain staff with external actors – reportedly including commercial bank tellers and unpatriotic citizens – in a deliberate attempt to divert government revenue.”

ACC in the press release advised all Persons of Interest in the matter, including those who have left the jurisdiction of Sierra Leone, to report immediately to the Commission’s Integrity House, Tower Hill in Freetown.

ACC called on the National Revenue Authority, Commercial Banks, Tax Payers, Clearing and Forwarding Agencies, etc, to cooperate fully and speedily when required to do so, as delays may lead to immediate arrests and detention without further notice.

The Commission sternly warns against any interference with the investigation, as any such interference may be tantamount to obstructing the Work of the Commission, which is an offence under the Anti-Corruption Act of 2008 as amended in 2019, and which carries severe penalties.

ACC reassure Sierra Leoneans of its continued and consistent determination to ensure the protection of Public Funds and Public Revenue.
