Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. President Julius Maada Bio welcomed QU Dongyu, the Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), during his first visit to Sierra Leone.
The meeting took place at the Presidential Palace, where President Bio expressed his appreciation for Dongyu’s acceptance of the invitation and the FAO’s ongoing support for the country’s agricultural sector.
In his statement, President Bio affirmed the significance of the FAO’s assistance, particularly in relation to Sierra Leone’s flagship initiative, Feed Salone.
He stated, “I expressed my gratitude for accepting my invitation, for FAO’s sustained support of our agricultural sector, and for his special interest in advancing our flagship initiative, Feed Salone.”
President Bio further emphasized the importance of this initiative in transforming the agricultural landscape of Sierra Leone and reiterated the government’s commitment to enhancing food security and nutrition for its citizens.
He added, “We look forward to harnessing his vast experience and expertise as we resolutely push forward with our transformative Feed Salone agenda.”
