The Transition Committee of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has officially presented its final report to the Executive Committee at a press conference held at the Ministry of Information and Civic Education’s Conference Hall, Youyi Building in Freetown, on Friday, 19th September 2025.
Chairman of the Transition Committee, Dr. Isaac Massaquoi, explained to members of the press that the committee was established following the SLFA Elective Congress held on August 2, 2025, with the mandate to assess the operational state of the Association and ensure a structured handover.
According to Dr. Massaquoi, the committee’s work focused on governance, Finance, Competitions, Staffing, and Coordination with oversight bodies, intending to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities. He commended the SLFA staff for their cooperation and professionalism during the process.
‘’ We have completed our task and compiled a comprehensive report,’’ he said. “ Our findings highlight systemic weaknesses in governance practices, and we have also made recommendations for the Executive Committee to decide on their Implementation.’’
The report was received by Vice President one, Ali Badara Tarawallie. He applauded the committee for what he described as a job well done. He noted that the Executive had confidence in the caliber of people appointed to the Transition Committee, and their professional output had justified that trust.
Mr. Tarawallie assured the committee, the media, and the general public that the SLFA leadership, under the guidance of President Babadi Kamara they will study the report carefully and take the necessary actions in the best interest of Sierra Leonean football.
