Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Commissioner Ernest Mbaimba Ndomahina of the National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA) paid a courtesy visit to Ambassador Dr. Lansana Gberie and staff at Sierra Leone’s Permanent Mission in Geneva following the opening of the 76th Session of the UNHCR Executive Committee.

The visit provided an opportunity for the two leaders to discuss Sierra Leone’s legislative and legal frameworks aimed at providing essential services to displaced Sierra Leoneans, refugees, and stateless persons. They also reviewed broader humanitarian priorities under the UNHCR’s mandate, highlighting the importance of effective coordination between NaCSA and the Permanent Mission in advancing Sierra Leone’s humanitarian agenda.

Commissioner Ndomahina is attending the ongoing ExCom 2025 at the Palais des Nations, where he is expected to address key issues on international refugee protection and Sierra Leone’s ongoing humanitarian initiatives. His participation underscores the country’s proactive engagement in global discussions on refugee welfare, protection, and reintegration.

Under President Julius Maada Bio, the Government of Sierra Leone continues to demonstrate strong commitment to refugee protection and community development. This is reflected in the implementation of the Comprehensive Refugee Response Framework (CRRF), alignment with the Global Compact on Refugees, and NaCSA’s National Strategic Development Plan.

Commissioner Ndomahina is scheduled to deliver a statement reaffirming the government’s dedication to strengthening community development, enhancing social protection, and supporting refugees and returnees. NaCSA remains a central institution fostering national and international partnerships for sustainable humanitarian action.
