Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. In a decisive move to galvanize national participation in the upcoming African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) Second Generation Country Review, the APRM Executive Secretary has concluded a strategic regional tour spanning October 27 to November 30.

The engagement covered the North-East, North-West, South, and Eastern Regions, bringing together key governance stakeholders in preparation for the continental review process.

The APRM delegation, led by the Executive Secretary, met with Resident Ministers, Provincial Secretaries, and members of the Provincial Security Committees (PROSEC), delivering a unified message of national reflection, civic engagement, and institutional strengthening.

The meetings were marked by enthusiastic pledges of support and cooperation from regional actors, reaffirming their commitment to the process as a presidential directive under His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio.

“The APRM Second Generation Review is a national moment of reflection,” the Executive Secretary emphasized during each engagement. “It brings communities together to assess how we are doing, what we’ve achieved, and where we can improve. By listening to each other, we strengthen our systems, build trust, and shape a better future for everyone.”

The regional tour also set the stage for the arrival of the APRM Continental Delegation, which will lead the technical review process in the coming weeks. Stakeholders were briefed on the importance of inclusive participation, transparency, and amplifying local voices in shaping Sierra Leone’s governance trajectory.

Throughout the engagements, the delegation reinforced key messages:

“Together We Reflect. Together We Grow.”

“Every Voice Matters. Every Story Counts.”

“Listening. Learning. Improving – The APRM Way.”

The Executive Secretary urged citizens, civil society, and local leaders to embrace the process with openness and pride, stressing that the review is more than a technical exercise it is a civic milestone.

“Take part in the conversation. Share your experiences. Be part of building a stronger Sierra Leone for all,” he urged.

As Sierra Leone prepares to host the APRM Continental Delegation, the regional tour has laid a strong foundation for inclusive dialogue, institutional accountability, and renewed commitment to good governance. The APRM Secretariat continues to encourage all Sierra Leoneans to participate actively and make their voices heard.
