Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. On the sidelines of the 21st Global Financing Facility (GFF) Investor’s Group Meeting held in Dakar, Sierra Leone’s Minister of Health, Dr. Austin Demby, convened a high-level ministerial network meeting at the Azalaï Hotel.

The gathering brought together Ministers of Health from across Africa, representatives from the GFF Secretariat, the World Bank, global health development partners, and senior government officials.

The meeting focused on reviewing progress made under the GFF 2020–2025 Strategy and setting priorities for the upcoming 2026-2030 Strategy. In his opening statement, Dr. Demby, who chairs the GFF Ministerial Network, underscored the importance of country leadership and mutual accountability in achieving sustainable health outcomes. He highlighted Sierra Leone’s “Life Stages Approach,” built around the principles of Accompaniment, Alignment, Acceleration, and Accountability the “4 A’s” which aim to improve health service delivery through effective governance and strategic partnerships.

Dr. Demby also emphasized the need for data-driven decision-making, improved access to essential health commodities, and stronger coordination between the GFF, Gavi, and the Global Fund.
