Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. A nationwide youth scouting initiative spearheaded by Sierra International Academy in partnership with AFRI Talent Academy has successfully concluded at the SLFA Academy, marking another significant step in strengthening Sierra Leone’s grassroots football development.

The program brought together emerging talents from Kono, Makeni, Bo and Freetown, with the objective of identifying skilled young players and creating structured pathways for their professional growth.

International Scout and Youth Developer, Morlai B. Kamara, graced the final day of the event, offering inspiration and guidance to the participants. Sharing his own story, he encouraged the young players to remain committed to their dreams despite challenges, stressing that perseverance and discipline are key to succeeding in football.

Kamara also conducted training sessions focused on transition play, positional awareness and overall discipline, critical elements he described as the foundation of modern football. His mentorship aimed at deepening the players’ understanding of the game and improving their performance on the pitch.

At the end of the scouting exercise, several standout players were identified from all four regions, raising hopes for new football opportunities and potential career breakthroughs.

Organizers say the success of the program signals a bright future for youth development in Sierra Leone, as more young athletes gain access to professional training and exposure.
