Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The stage is set in Bo City as the Mano River Union (MRU) U-20 Women’s Tournament officially kicks off tomorrow, 2nd December 2025, at the Southern Arena, bringing together young female football talents in a regional showcase of skill and sportsmanship.

Originally scheduled to feature three nations, this year’s edition will now be contested by Sierra Leone and Liberia following Guinea’s withdrawal due to logistical challenges. Despite the adjustment, excitement remains high as both teams prepare to battle for regional bragging rights in the four-day competition running from 2nd to 6th December.

The tournament, hosted in Sierra Leone for the 2025 cycle, forms part of the MRU’s efforts to strengthen sub-regional cooperation through sports while promoting women’s participation in football.

Fans are expected to fill the iconic Southern Arena as Sierra Leone’s U-20 Shooting Stars aim to capitalize on home advantage.
