Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The Magburaka Police Division has stepped up its long-running campaign against illegal drug activity, recording yet another success with the arrest of a man believed to be involved in cannabis distribution.

On Monday, 8th December 2025, officers carried out a focused enforcement operation that led to the arrest of Mohamed Fornah, a resident of Gendama Village, Mile 91, in the Tonkolili District. Fornah was found in possession of a quantity of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis sativa, authorities confirmed.

The Local Unit Commander (LUC) noted that the arrest was part of a broader strategy designed to disrupt the movement of harmful substances across communities in the division. He further explained that the suspect and the seized materials have been properly documented and transferred for continued investigations.

Police officials stress that these actions are not isolated events but form part of an ongoing, robust crackdown aimed at safeguarding young people and maintaining public safety. The division reiterates its commitment to rooting out drug-related crimes and bringing perpetrators to justice.
