Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. East End Lions have endured a difficult start to the new season, failing to build on the strong form that carried them to last year’s title.

However, East End Lions finally secured their first win of the season after six outings, staging a spirited comeback to defeat Old Edwardians 2-1 in an entertaining encounter.

Old Edwardians took the lead through James Jusu Kanja, who found the back of the net to put the visitors ahead and momentarily silence the home supporters.

The East End Lions responded with renewed urgency and were rewarded when Guinean international Sam Diallo calmly converted from the penalty spot to restore parity.

The turnaround was completed when Sulaiman S. Kargbo rose highest to power home a superb header, finishing off a pinpoint cross delivered by Diallo to seal all three points for the Lions.

The victory marks a timely boost for East End Lions as they look to build momentum and climb the league standings following a difficult start to the campaign.
