Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. East End Lions Football Club has received a significant financial boost after its Chairman, Ambassador Anthony Navo Jr., announced a major investment to support the team during the ongoing 2025/2026 Sierra Leone Premier League season.
Speaking during an engagement with players, coaches, management, staff, and supporters, Ambassador Navo reaffirmed his commitment to restoring the club to its former glory. The event also marked the emotional return of star player Moses Bankolay Coker, who rejoined the squad following a prolonged injury layoff.
Ambassador Navo disclosed that players will benefit from a salary increase of more than 100 percent compared to last season. He explained that the move is part of a broader strategy aimed at strengthening the squad, boosting morale, and mounting a serious push for the league title.
“We are investing billions more this season to ensure the team has the financial and technical support needed to dominate,” he said, adding that the ongoing construction of the club’s training facility at the Trade Centre remains a top priority.
Describing East End Lions as one of the continent’s most solid sporting institutions, Ambassador Navo expressed optimism that the renewed investment would drive a successful campaign and reinforce the club’s legacy.
As the team prepares to face Wilberforce FC at the Approved School Playing Field, the chairman urged supporters to turn out in large numbers to back the players, whom he said are focused and determined to reclaim the top position.
With the 2025/2026 Premier League season underway, Ambassador Navo reiterated his belief that “The Killers” will rise to the challenge and continue to be a dominant force in Sierra Leonean football.
