Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) Chief Minister Dr. David Moinina Sengeh’s recent comments regarding the Agreement for National Unity (ANU) have drawn a strong response from All People’s Congress (APC) presidential aspirant Osman Timbo.
In an interview on Radio Democracy 98.1 yesterday, Dr. Sengeh reportedly claimed that Timbo, alongside other individuals including Marrah, “imposed” certain provisions of the ANU on former APC presidential candidate Dr. Samura Kamara, suggesting that Kamara was forced to accept terms he opposed.
Responding to the remarks, Osman Timbo described them as “lies, malicious, deceitful, and rancorous,” stressing that he never imposed or forced Dr. Samura Kamara to do anything regarding the agreement. “How could I even? E nor even make sense,” Timbo said in a written statement.
Timbo expressed that he was not surprised by the comments, attributing them to the influence of power on individuals. “Some people wae na power make we sabi dem, d power kin claim dem head n kin talk all sorts,” he stated.
The APC aspirant demanded a public retraction of the statements as they relate to him and indicated that he is contemplating his next course of action.
