Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The National Civil Registration Authority (NCRA) and the National Investment Board (NIB) have concluded a landmark meeting that signals a bold new direction in Sierra Leone’s effort to streamline business registration and make investment facilitation more reliable, transparent, and accountable.
The meeting, held on Thursday, 9th April 2026, at the Office of the Director General of the NCRA, was in response to a request by the NIB under the Office of the Vice President.
Furthermore, the core of the meeting was a strategic discussion on how the NCRA’s National Identification Number (NIN) infrastructure can be integrated into the operationalization of the NIB’s One Stop Shop (OSS), a Business Solution Centre established as part of the Government of Sierra Leone’s ongoing reform agenda to enhance the country’s investment and business environment.
Following the deliberations, the Heads of both institutions reached a firm agreement on cooperation. The NCRA Director General, Mr. Mohamed Mubashir MASSAQUOI, acted with immediate effect, assigning a dedicated staff member to the NIB One Stop Shop to ensure that identity verification services are fully embedded within the business registration process from day one.
Also, Dr. Edward Hinga Sandy, Executive Director of the NIB, expressed his delight at the NCRA’s responsiveness and commitment. He described the Authority as “the heartbeat of the One Stop Shop process,” an acknowledgment that without robust, identity-verified data at its foundation, no business facilitation framework can function with the integrity and efficiency that Sierra Leone’s investment climate demands.
Both institutions have expressed firm commitment to sustaining this collaboration as the One Stop Shop advances toward full operationalization.
