Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Sierra Leone’s presence on the global football stage is set to be reinforced as the President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Babadi Kamara, leads a delegation to the 75th FIFA Congress in Canada, scheduled for 30th April 2026.
Kamara departed Freetown on Sunday, 26th April, accompanied by Executive Committee Member Mohamed Sorie Jalloh and General Secretary Mohamed Benson Bawoh. The trip reflects a strategic effort by the SLFA to maintain active participation in key decision-making platforms that shape international football governance.
The FIFA Congress, regarded as one of the most significant gatherings in world football administration, will bring together leaders from across member associations to deliberate on policy direction, development frameworks, and the future of the game.
Beyond the main congress proceedings, the SLFA leadership is also expected to engage in high-level continental discussions. On 28th April, President Kamara will join other African football administrators in a strategic meeting convened by CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe.
The session will focus on strengthening football development structures across Africa and improving collaboration among member associations.
The engagements come at a time when African football bodies are increasingly seeking stronger representation and influence in global football decision-making spaces, with Sierra Leone positioning itself as an active participant in that process.
