Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. Fire incident yesterday at #13 Henery Street, Freetown. The entire compound was completely burnt down and resulted in the loss of property worth Millions of Leones.
According to eye witnesses they said the fire was caused by a ”coal pot” they took in to the house after cooking.
They said the fire in the ”coal pot” was not properly put out and was taken in to the house. The embers later developed into full blown fire and resulted to the burning of a one story board house and all other makeshift one rooms houses in the compound.
This is the sixth compound that has been burnt down within five months this year alone in this constituency (107). The National Fire Force did their best to put out the fire and contain it, but as always they are too late and they are not well equipped.
