Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. It is undoubtedly certain that Sierra Leone national team, Leone Stars Team-B squad will be having their return leg match with the Eagles of Mali at the Stade du 26 Mars, Bamako, Mali in the TotalEnergies CHAN 2022 qualifiers today Saturday 3rd September, 2022.
Leone Stars Team-B squad who had their home match with the Eagles of Mali few days ago at the newly renovated Samuel Kanyon Doe sports in Monrovia, Liberia on Saturday 27th August 2022 are set to lock horns with Mali as the Team’s CHAN 2022 qualification depends greatly on this match result.
After minty minutes of home game played in Liberia, Sierra Leone suffered a 2:1 defeat to the Eagles of Mali. Les Aigles (The Eagles) national Team-B side scored in both sides of the game. Their first and second goals were scored by Hamidou Sinayako and Ousmane Kamissoko, 23 and 47th minutes respectively.
In the side of the Lions of Sierra Leone, Musa Noah Kamara aka Musa Tombo scored the last goal in the 91st minutes that ended the match 2:1 in favour of the Eagles of Mali.
This match is a must win for if Sierra Leone is to qualify for the TotalEnergies 2022 CHAN qualifiers. To be able to qualify, Leone Stars Team-B squad must win the match in a 2:0, 3:0 or 3:1 defeat against Mali in their return leg match today Saturday 3rd September, 2022.
The 2023 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Championship will be hosted by Algeria who qualified as the host nation. Morocco and Libya, under the North zone are also automatic qualifiers of the said event.
