The Chief Minister of Sierra Leone chaired a high-level technical meeting between the Government of Sierra Leone (GoSL) and the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID), aimed at strengthening investment cooperation in key sectors aligned with President Bio’s transformation agenda.
The EBID delegation was led by its President, Dr. George Agyekum Nana Donkor, Minister of Finance (MoF), and Sheku Fantamadi Bangura emphasized Sierra Leone’s strong progress and readiness to engage strategically.
Dr. Donkor commended GoSL’s fiscal discipline, macroeconomic stability, and its ambitious national priorities, assuring that EBID stands ready to support the Government of Sierra Leone in delivering on its development agenda.
Chief Minister underscored the government’s seriousness, citing the presence of seven cabinet ministers and key agencies, including the MoF, MoPED, MTHE, MT, MBSSE, and SLRA.
Additionally, the Discussions focused on reviewing ongoing projects and identifying priority areas for accelerated delivery. In closing, the MoF described the engagement as “highly prospective,” noting growing investor interest and a clear pathway for collaborative development aligned with the Big Five Game Changers.
As part of this process, additional technical meetings will be held in the coming days to deepen dialogue and operationalize key commitments, in line with EBID President Dr. Donkor’s assurance of continued partnership.
