Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has announced the formation of an Adhoc Committee to investigate allegations of neglect relating to the death of former Mighty Blackpool midfielder, Bureh Ganso Koroma.
According to the press release, the decision taken by the Executive Committee in accordance with Article 55 of the SLFA Statutes-follows growing concerns over the circumstances that preceded the player’s death. Koroma sustained severe injuries in May 2025 during an on-pitch collision in a friendly match between Leone Stars and Mighty Blackpool FC.
The newly constituted committee has been mandated to carry out a thorough and independent inquiry into the matter. Its responsibilities include examining claims of negligence involving officials of both the SLFA and the National Men’s Team, ensuring accountability, and providing recommendations aimed at preventing similar incidents in the future.
Members of the Adhoc Committee include:
Mr. Victor Idrissa Lansana – Chairman
Mr. Sadick Deen Nyarkoh – Vice Chairman
Dr. Joseph Edwin Kanu -Member
Alhaji Abubakarr S. A. Rahman – Member
Ms. Victoria Conteh – Member
The committee is expected to commence work immediately and submit its findings and recommendations to the SLFA Executive Committee within the stipulated timeframe.
In its statement, the SLFA reiterated its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of player welfare, safety, and professional conduct across all levels of football in Sierra Leone.
