Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. The President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Mr. Babadi Kamara, paid a compassionate visit to the injured players of Koya Queens FC at the 34 Military Hospital in Freetown on Monday, 1st December 2025.

The players had sustained severe injuries in a road accident while travelling to Kenema for a league match against Kahunla Rangers on Saturday.

During his visit, President Kamara interacted with both the injured players and medical staff, offering words of encouragement and solidarity on behalf of the SLFA.

He praised the players for their courage and resilience, noting their unwavering commitment to the sport, especially their consistent representation of Sierra Leone in international competitions.

“We cannot wait to see you all back in your boots and jerseys, winning games for your club,” President Kamara said. “You have consistently demonstrated resilience representing Sierra Leone on the international stage, and we look forward to seeing you on the pitch again soon.”

Dr. Joseph Edwin Kanu, the Consultant Physician attending to the players, confirmed that the players were responding positively to treatment and were in stable condition.

President Kamara commended the medical team for their swift intervention and professionalism, noting that the players were expected to be discharged pending a scheduled X-ray procedure on Tuesday.

The SLFA President reassured Koya Queens FC and their supporters that the Association remained committed to safeguarding the welfare of footballers, particularly women in the game. He emphasized that the SLFA would continue to provide support to the club throughout the recovery process.

“We will stand by Koya Queens FC every step of the way as you recover and prepare for your return to action,” Kamara added.
