Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>The Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education has withheld a total of 10,211 school candidates that sat the 2022 government West Africa Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

Sources revealed that a total number of 10,211 candidates have yet to receive their results as government refused to pay their fees to the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) for the 2022 government WASSCE exams.<\/p>\n

Information from the Ministry of Education also revealed that there are 33 government assisted schools results have been withheld for the 2022 government WASSCE as government did not recognize them as government assisted Schools for this year.<\/p>\n

Foday Moriba Kalokoh, the Proprietor for the Marampa Academy Senior Secondary School Fellow Farm Morabie Waterloo in the Western Area Rural, explained that the number of candidates whose school results were withheld are 10,211candidates and his school has a total number of 677 candidates that sat the 2022 government WASSCE.<\/p>\n

The Proprietor continued that he has been receiving subvention from government as government assisted Schools for over 4 years now.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have tried to hold several meetings with the Ministry of Education to see how they can help us to solve this issue, since they have decided to remove our schools from their list as government assisted Schools,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n

Mr Kalokoh expressed that he was very disappointed by the Ministry of Education, because they should have informed those proprietors before the commencement of the exams.<\/p>\n
