Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>The main opposition All People\u2019s Congress Party (APC) will conduct a rerun of lower-level elections in a number of wards and constituencies between the 15th and 19th January this year.<\/a><\/p>\n

This move come as result of an investigation conducted by the Political Parties Registration Commission (PPRC) over allegations of fraud during the party\u2019s election process.<\/p>\n

The PPRC received over 30 petitions from members complaining malfeasance in the electioneering process in several wards and constituencies late last year.<\/p>\n

The Transitional Interim Independent Elections Management Committee (TIIEM), the body tasked with the responsibility to conduct the said elections, announced a date for the conduct of elections in the petitioned wards and constituencies.<\/p>\n

The TIIEM slated the 15th January for the conduct of elections in 59 wards and the 17th January for 19 constituencies.<\/p>\n

The party\u2019s election body further urged all members of the party to comply with the Police for security and the maintenance of peace during the entire process.<\/p>\n

In another development, main presidential flagbearer aspirant of the party, Samura Kamara reaffirmed his commitment in Makeni this week to work in the interest of all factions within the party.The main opposition is on their final preparations for the June 2023 elections.<\/p>\n
