Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>The Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS) launches, on Friday, the commercialization process of ANGOSAT-2 services.<\/p>\n

ANGOSAT-2, the Angolan communication satellite operating in geostationary orbit, will provide services in the C, KU and KA band.<\/p>\n

The satellite, built by the company Information Satellite Systems Reshetnev (ISS Reshetnev), is made up of two modules, namely the Express 1000 platform and the payload, the latter being the responsibility of Airbus Defense and Space.<\/p>\n

With an expected service life of 15 years, ANGOSAT-2, launched into orbit on October 12, 2022, is one of the projects of the National Space Program Management Office (GGPEN), an agency assigned to the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication.<\/p>\n

According to a press release, during the event there will also be presentations of the \u201cPerformance and Technical Characteristics of ANGOSAT-2\u201d and the \u201cCommercial Plan, Solutions and Portfolio\u201d.<\/p>\n

In the note, MINTTICS says that the Angolan satellite will allow national telecommunications operators and the Government to benefit from bandwidth capabilities, with costs based on national currency, helping to better manage investments and adjust them to the reality of the final user.<\/p>\n

Another objective that is intended to be achieved with ANGOSAT-2, according to the document, is to promote and increase business in totally disconnected regions, contributing considerably to reducing the digital divide in Angola and on the African continent.<\/p>\n

The satellite is covering the entire African continent, a significant part of Southern Europe and almost complete coverage of the Southern African region, constituting a source of revenue.<\/p>\n
