Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>Chairman of the Interim Transitional Governance Committee (ITGC) of the All People\u2019s Congress (APC), Alfred Peter Conteh has written a letter to the party\u2019s Transition Interim Independent Elections Management Committee (TIIEMC) requesting more information on election fraud claims.<\/p>\n

<\/a>In the letter, Conteh is seeking information on petitioned irregularities in the party\u2019s lower-level elections in Kono.<\/p>\n

The ITGC Chairman claimed that the District Chairman-elect, Raymond Gbekie has been out of the country since 2018 and has not returned since. He said that he had a conversation with the petitioner who told him that Gbekie was not present at the convention centre.He also pried on Tony Konomanyi who was not also present, that Konomanyi left the country after the 10 August protest and is yet to return.<\/p>\n

He urged Ibrahim Sorie Kamara, Chairman of the TIIEMC to address the claims with regard to the Elections Act of Sierra Leone. It could be recalled that Justice Adrian Fisher granted the party an extended time to conduct their lower-level elections after a former one was fraught with fraud and violence.<\/p>\n

In a similar vein, the Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC) upheld some petitioned in the previous elections conducted by the party and further asked some members to remain unselfish.The APC party is the main opposition in Sierra Leone with millions of supporters nationwide and in the diaspora but intra-party violence and differences have negatively impacted the growth of the party over the years.<\/p>\n
