Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>The Local Unit Commander for the Harbour Police Division in Freetown, ACP Denis Musa Taylor and the LPPB Regional Secretary Freetown-East Melbourne Greene on Thursday 16th February, 2023 visited various school crossing points along the newly constructed Hillside Bypass Road.<\/p>\n

<\/a>The motive of the visit is to find out how residents along the Hillside Community are utilizing the school crossing points, especially children, following different concerns raised by concerned citizens raised at different times.<\/p>\n

In his statement, the LUC called on people that were present at the scene to come to the crossing points where police personnel are equipped with a long wooden sign board signalling \u2018STOP\u2019 on one end, and \u2018GO\u2019 on the other, and are tasked with the responsibility of helping pedestrians to safely cross the road which he said, the police may do it at different intervals to help pedestrians.<\/p>\n

In his statement about the visit, a resident of the Hillside Community, Alusine Conteh, applauded the LUC for his concern about their safety especially when vehicle drivers and bike riders are usually speeding along the road with little or no concern about the life of the people.<\/p>\n

Upon revelation from the people, the LUC promised to send his Community Relations Department personnel to further conduct an in-depth sensitization on the proper usage of the crossing point to avoid an accident and further have police personnel on constant working.<\/p>\n
