Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>The newly reelected flagbearer of Sierra Leone\u2019s main opposition, the All Peoples Congress (APC), Dr. Samura Kamara has officially taken oath to serve and lead the Party in the 24 June general elections.<\/p>\n

<\/a>After the Pronouncement of the flagbearer results on Monday 20 February, 2023, Chairman Ibrahim Sorie administered the oath to Dr. Samura Kamara.<\/p>\n

Kamara was announced as the winner of the flagbearer election after defeating 16 other candidates at the party\u2019s national delegates conference held in Makeni, Northern part of Sierra Leone.The flagbearer candidates include Dr. Samura Kamara, Dr. Paul Alimamy Bangura, Alhaji Osman Thonkia Bangura, Susan Bona, Alfred Palo Conteh, Omrie Michael Golley, Abu Bakarr Kalokah, Bassie Kamara, Amara Alikalie Kamara, Dr. Richard Konteh, Ansumana Usman Koroma, Alimamy Petitio Koroma, Kaifala Marah, Ibrahim Kemoh Sesay, Mohamed Mahdi Sesay, Sim Ibrahim Mohamed Turay and Dr. Momoh Vandi.<\/p>\n

The election results read; Dr Alimamy Thonkla Bangura \u2013 5 votes; Susan Bona \u2013 6 votes; Paolo Conteh \u2013 10 votes; Omrie Golly \u2013 21 votes; Abubakarr kalokoh \u2013 6 votes; Bassie Kamara \u2013 0 votes; Alikalie Kamara = 1; Dr Richard Conteh \u2013 88 votes; AUK \u2013 10 votes; Petito Koroma \u2013 12 votes; Dr Kerifala Marah \u2013 58 votes; Kemoh Sesay \u2013 10 votes; Mohamed Madi Sesay \u2013 3 votes; Mohamed Turay \u2013 3 votes; Momoh Vandi \u2013 6 votes while Dr. Mathew Wilson Samura Kamara got 1,382 votes.<\/p>\n

Kamara was the Presidential Candidate for the APC party in the 2018 general Elections in Sierra Leone. He made the declaration to re-contest under the party in the 2023 presidential election with the theme: \u2018Build back Sierra Leone\u2019, where he promised to enhance this through the improved cost of living for citizens, national cohesion, and fighting corruption among other issues.<\/p>\n
