Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>President Julius Maada Bio in his recent tour to the provinces has called on the people of Massam Kpka Chiefdom in the Pujehun district of Southern Sierra Leone to re-elect him for a second term without no runoff with the main opposition All People\u2019s Congress (APC) in the upcoming June 24th general elections.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

In his statement to the jubilant crowd, President Bio makes mention of his government flagship program which is the \u2018Free Quality Education\u2019 (FQSE), and his manifesto commitment to efficiently and effectively manage the national and natural resources of the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have diversified our economy from just depending on mining loyalties to now looking up to marine resources, tourism, agriculture, among other sectors, we have recruited more teachers, nurses, etc, and have constructed strategic roads, bridges, and a brand-new airport at the Freetown International Airport in Lungi, Kaffu Bullom Chiefdom, Port Loko District in the Northwest Region.<\/p>\n

President Bio continued that he and his government were voted for to transform the country which they have done and will proudly stand up to say that they have done it to perfection.<\/p>\n

He further stated that the June 24th, 2023 election is about perfecting the solid foundation he and his government has laid in their first term which he said has been recognized by the global community.<\/p>\n

\u201cBefore 2018, most pupils were finding it difficult to get university requirements in public exams because the standard of education was watered down by the previous government. The APC was running the country as a business. Today, when I heard that we have now gotten 300 students pursuing different courses in universities across the country from your leaders in this chiefdom, I knew that my investment in education has not gone in vain\u201d.<\/p>\n

In het statement, First Lady, Fatima Bio said teachers who have been imparting knowledge to future leaders are valuable assets and they must be cherished, adding that they are great and can only be rewarded by the Almighty God.<\/p>\n

She promised the people of Massam Kpaka to distribute free sanitary pads to their school-going girls after the Holy Month of Ramadan.<\/p>\n

She continued by reiterating her warning to men to respect the hands of our girl\u2019s campaign.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese girls have the potential to transform this country in the future. When women are allowed to lead, they will create a very huge impact. So am pleading to the men to give women the space to showcase their potential\u201d.<\/p>\n
