Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>The main opposition, All People\u2019s Congress (APC)\u2019s presidential candidate, Dr Samura Kamara, has promised to govern Sierra Leone as one nation, treating every ethnic group and region fairly.<\/a><\/p>\n

Speaking at a gathering in Kabaya, in Kambia district, Kamara lamented the toxic nature of today\u2019s politics in the country and assured that he would work towards a national outlook in every development programme and project implemented by the government.<\/p>\n

\u201cHere in Kabaya, in Kukuna, and in all the communities in this district deserve a fair share of government\u2019s development agenda. You deserve good schools, good roads, good health facilities, and good social amenities,\u201d he told the crowd.<\/p>\n

Kamara emphasized that the provision of social services was not a favor from any government, but the right of every citizen.<\/p>\n

He urged the people to stand up and choose the leader they want, adding that a God-fearing leader would be open-minded enough to accept criticisms and engage in constructive dialogue.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen in power, the duty of a leader is to protect the citizens and not to harass them,\u201d Kamara said, stating that his leadership would be guided by faith and a commitment to serve the people of Sierra Leone.<\/p>\n

He also spoke about his purpose for visiting Kabaya, saying that he had come to present himself and to better understand the immediate and long-term needs of the people of Kambia.<\/p>\n

Kamara assured the gathering that he knew the importance of fixing the Mambolo to Kabaya road and all the way to neighboring Guinea when he becomes President after June 24.<\/p>\n

As Sierra Leone prepares for the upcoming presidential election, Dr Samura Kamara\u2019s promises of fairness and unity may resonate with voters who are tired of the divisive politics that have plagued the country for years. Whether or not he wins the election, Kamara\u2019s message of hope and inclusivity is a reminder that a better Sierra Leone is possible.<\/p>\n
