Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>The UNICEF Sierra Leone\u2019s Country Representative, Dr. Suleiman Braimoh has officially retired from his position after a service of more than 30 years for the UN Organisation across the globe.<\/p>\n

<\/a>\u201cDr. Braimoh\u2019s retirement comes after a distinguished career in the United Nations system for over three decades, during which he provided dedicated service to children and their families in Africa, Europe and Asia,\u201d a statement from UNICEF Sierra Leone said.<\/p>\n

Dr. Braimoh, during his service, was believed to have played a key role in building a good partnership with the Sierra Leone Government, the Diplomatic Community and other NGOs operating in the West African nation.<\/p>\n

The UNICEF said Dr. Braimoh has been a pivotal member in advocating for children and other vulnerable people in Sierra Leone and across the globe. The UN organisation added that the former Country Representative was their efforts to promote child protection, including preventing and responding to violence, abuse, exploitation and neglect.<\/p>\n

Speaking on his retirement, Dr. Braimoh said he was grateful for the opportunity accorded to him to serve the children of Sierra Leone and that he was proud of their achievement.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am confident that the dedicated team at UNICEF Sierra Leone will continue to positively impact the lives of children and young people,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
