<\/a>The candidate made this bold promise in a widely circulated video shared on various social media platforms.<\/p>\n

Addressing the issue of skyrocketing food prices in the country, Sowa-Turay emphasized his administration\u2019s commitment to curbing the crisis.He revealed plans to establish a free port exclusively for food importers, ensuring that no business entities will be burdened with any additional costs when bringing essential food supplies into Sierra Leone.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs part of his effort to control the alarming food price in Sierra Leone, my administration will declare a free port to all importers of food in the country. No business people will pay a single cent to bring food to Sierra Leone,\u201d the UDM presidential candidate said.<\/p>\n

With 13 candidates competing for the presidential seat, Sowa-Turay has offered a viable solution to a critical concern affecting the daily lives of Sierra Leonean citizens. His pledge to eliminate import taxes on food highlights his determination to alleviate the economic strain faced by the populace.<\/p>\n
