Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>Former Vice President in the Ernest Bai Koroma Government has accused the ruling Sierra Leone People\u2019s Party of making vague promises to the people of Kono District in Eastern Sierra Leone.<\/p>\n

<\/a>According to The Exclusive, the former Vice President said most of the infrastructural development in the diamond-rich district took place under the erstwhile government.Sam-Sumana equated the promises made by the ruling government to being vague and bent on wooing voters as the country edge towards elections.<\/p>\n

Kono in previous elections has been categorised as a swing district.<\/p>\n

The SLPP won the district in 2002 with late President Ahmad Tejan Kabbah. The APC took the district again in 2007 and 2012 elections.<\/p>\n

<\/a>In 2018 elections, both the SLPP and APC lost significant votes in the district due to the formation of local party, Coalition for Change (C4C). With the C4C party at the doldrums, the main opposition APC and ruling SLPP have directed substantial energy to win the district.<\/p>\n

With barely days to elections, both parties have made bold claims that they will win the district.<\/p>\n
