Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>The Pentecostal Fellowship of Sierra Leone (PFSL) has launched their election observation software application ahead of the polls on Saturday.<\/p>\n

<\/a>The launching was made by President of the PFSL, Bishop Akintayo Sam-Jolly during the PFSL\u2019s Launch of Elections Volunteer Observers and Peace Advocators Mission at Sapphire Court in Freetown.<\/p>\n

The app interface provides ease for observers in inputting data like number of political parties represented in a polling centre, attitude of polling staff, adequacy of ballot papers and time of start of polls.<\/p>\n

The app is believed a game-changer in the field of election observation in Sierra Leone.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Pentecostal Church of Sierra Leone will be deploying 399 observers nation-wide,\u201d Bishop Sam-Jolly said.<\/p>\n

<\/a>He added that this venture is the first by the mission in pre-election formalities.<\/p>\n

<\/a>The PFSL President said that they were also involved in post-election formalities 2018 elections and saw the need to be part of the observation mission this time round.<\/p>\n

Also present at the occasion was former Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ), Kelvin Lewis. During his address, Lewis admonished political leaders to accept the outcome of the election.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is no election that is 100 percent correct,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The event ended with a prayer by the mission for the 2023 elections to be peaceful and beneficial to the nation.<\/p>\n

Polls will open at 7 in the morning on Saturday. The local population will be voting in a multitier election.<\/p>\n
