Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>In a post shared on Twitter, yesterday evening, Samura Kamara, the presidential candidate of the main opposition All People\u2019s Congress (APC), expressed deep concerns regarding the recent presidential election results.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Kamara, who lost the June 24 election to the incumbent Julius Maada Bio on the first round of voting, raised questions about the transparency and integrity of the electoral process.<\/p>\n

Kamara, a firm believer in the core principles of transparency, accountability, and the importance of respecting the will of the people, called for a thorough investigation into the electoral process.<\/p>\n

He highlighted the need for a fair and honest system that upholds the sacred principles upon which the nation was established.<\/p>\n

The results, announced by the Chief Electoral Commissioner, Mohamed Konneh, indicated that Bio secured 56.17% of the valid votes cast, while Kamara received 41.16% of the votes. However, Kamara and his party refuse to accept the outcome and believe there were irregularities that need to be addressed.<\/p>\n

\u201cI continue to reject the result. It does not reflect the will of the people. On June 24 Sierra Leoneans came out and voted in masses for change. Their democratic rights to choose and to be represented by a legitimate government must not only be respected but protected,\u201d Kamara stated.<\/p>\n

The opposition leader\u2019s statement emphasized the importance of unity among citizens to preserve the principles of the nation and ensure the integrity of the democratic system.<\/p>\n

Kamara called on supporters and concerned citizens to join him in demanding accountability and holding responsible parties accountable for any irregularities.<\/p>\n
