{"id":19690,"date":"2023-07-06T10:31:33","date_gmt":"2023-07-06T10:31:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/sierra-leone\/all-news\/sierra-leone-judiciary-debunks-apcs-allegations"},"modified":"2023-07-06T10:59:37","modified_gmt":"2023-07-06T10:59:37","slug":"sierra-leone-judiciary-debunks-apcs-allegations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/sierra-leone\/all-news\/sierra-leone-judiciary-debunks-apcs-allegations","title":{"rendered":"Sierra Leone Judiciary Debunks APC\u2019s Allegations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Mohamed Foday Conteh<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>The Judiciary of Sierra Leone has debunked allegations made by the main opposition All People\u2019s Congress (APC) over lack of justice and biasness.<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"aswift_2_host\"><\/a>\u201cThe APC Party aimed at intimidating the Judiciary and ipso facto interfere with the Judiciary\u2019s independence,\u201d the Judiciary said.<\/p>\n<p>They urged the public to ignore the claims made by the main opposition citing that their intent is to undermine democracy and the Rule of Law in Sierra Leone.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Judiciary wishes to inform the general public that there is no political case for trial or judgement in any of our Courts emanating from the 2018 multitier election in the country,\u201d they clarified.<\/p>\n<p>The Judiciary went further by tabulating number cases filed by the main opposition and other political parties since 2018.<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"aswift_8_host\"><\/a>From their records, the APC of 3 cases while the ruling Sierra Leone People\u2019s Party (SLPP) filed a total of 23 cases.<\/p>\n<p>The Judiciary said the APC won a total of 18 cases \u2013 six more than the ruling SLPP who won 12 cases.<\/p>\n<p>The main opposition party accused the Judiciary of biasness and injustice on Monday.
