Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>The President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Pledges the sum of $5000 to Mogbwemo Queens Ahead of CAF Women\u2019s Champions League Qualifiers.<\/p>\n

<\/a>President Brima also pledged Financial, Logistical and external transportation support to Mogbwemo Queens as the team prepares to participate in this year\u2019s TotalEnergies 2023 CAF Women\u2019s Champions League Qualifiers in Liberia.<\/p>\n

In the presence of Vice President 1 Harold Nat-Johnson and Acting General Secretary Mohamed Benson Bawoh, President Brima made this commitment during a courtesy call paid to him by the management and players of Mogbwemo Queens on Wednesday, July 26 at the SLFA Headquarters in Freetown.<\/p>\n

the SLFA President also assured the Management and players of the team that they will not be left alone. \u201cWe will be providing our technical and professional support to you every step of the way\u201d. He said.<\/p>\n

President Brima, in bidding farewell to the Champions of the maiden Sierra Leone Female Premier League, urged the team to put up their best performance and ensure qualification to the next stage of the tournament. He said, \u201cYou are now ambassadors of our beloved country as you will be competing against other female clubs across Africa, representing not just Mogbwemo Queens as a club but Sierra Leone as a nation. We therefore also expect you all to put up your best behavior and be professional at all times. For the first time in the history of Sierra Leone Football, we are going to be represented by a local female club in an international competition. Go make history and let\u2019s all be part of changing the narrative\u201d.<\/p>\n

Mogbwemo Queens have been placed in a group of four teams along with AS Mande of Mali, AS Dakar Sacre Coeur of Senegal and the hosts Determine Girls of Liberia to play round-robin system and the best team progresses to the 2023 CAF Women\u2019s Champions League \u2013 now on its third year in a row \u2013 to be played in Co\u0302te d\u2019Ivoire between 05-19 November 2023.<\/p>\n
