Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>Sierra Leone\u2019s main opposition, All People\u2019s Congress (APC) has issued a 6 months ultimatum to the Government over demands raised after the 2023 multitier election.<\/p>\n

<\/a>APC disputed results announced by the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) citing that they failed to release results by polling centres.<\/p>\n

The main opposition party released a dossier signed by members of parliament and other senior members planning a boycott of government and governance.Recently, speaking on Voice of America (VOA), the APC Deputy National Secretary General Osman Abdal Timbo said the denial of their request by the ECSL is a sign that the elections were not fair and credible.<\/p>\n

Exclusive Newspaper also reported that Timbo said they have informed the Government that elections be conducted in the next 6 months because they believed the numbers are cooked.<\/p>\n

The ECSL declared the incumbent Julius Maada Bio of the Sierra Leone People\u2019s Party (SLPP) as winner of the presidential election after securing 57 percent of total valid votes.<\/p>\n

The APC could have challenged the results in court within six days but they refused despite one of their members advising them to take the legal route.<\/p>\n

Their Deputy National Secretary General said the country\u2019s Judiciary is biased towards their party citing that most of their cases have not been treated justly.<\/p>\n
