Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>207 personnel from the Sierra Leone Police have successfully passed the AU\/UN Assessment Test. The test is conducted by the UN Assessment Team in the form of an exercise on the fifth Formed Police Unit (FPU).<\/p>\n The UN Team was led by the Acting Head of Peace Support Operations Division (PSOD), Zinurine Abiodu Algahli.<\/p>\n Mr. Algahli submitted the Assessment Report to the Inspector General of the Sierra Leone Police, William Fayia Sellu at Police Headquarters on George Street in Freetown.The UN Personnel commended IG Sellu for his supervisory role while noting that their performance was at the apex. He added that they are convinced that the Unit is fit and ready for deployment.<\/p>\n Algahli heaped special praise to the female personnel describing them to be exceptional and enthusiastic. He suggested to the IG to consider a wholesome deployment of women and reconsider those that fail to make the FPU deployment be reconsidered for Individual Police Officers (IPO) deployment when the need arises.<\/p>\n \u201cI am highly impressed with the performance of the personnel, the training team and the Peacekeeping Department,\u201d the UN Rep said.<\/p>\n IG Sellu appreciated the UN representative while also commending the dedication of the team.<\/p>\n \u201cI am not surprised as I also used to be around them as a way of motivation,\u201d the IG said.<\/p>\n He promised to work on the recommendations he received from the team.<\/p>\n The Sierra Leonean Police have been playing important roles in peacekeeping operations in the African region.<\/p>\n The Force for Good notably participated in peacekeeping missions in Darfur, Sudan and Somalia.<\/p>\n For More News And Analysis About Sierra-Leone<\/a> Follow Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Mohamed Foday Conteh Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. 207 personnel from the Sierra Leone Police have successfully passed the AU\/UN Assessment Test.
