Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>Sierra Leonean Youth Envoy, Yulisa Ahmadu, has facilitated the hosting of 11 Sierra Leoneans fellows in with Embassy of Sierra Leone in the USA On Thursday 3rd August 2023.<\/a><\/p>\n

This connection is set to open up Youths chosen to serve in the United States as Young African Leaders under the 2023 Nelson Mandela Washington Fellowship program a world of possibilities for the participants, empowering them and expanding their opportunities in the United States.<\/p>\n

After the engagement, Yulisa Ahmadu states, \u201cExcited as I connected the amazing Mandela Washington Fellowship 2023 Sierra Leone Youths with the Embassy of #SierraLeone to the US. We had a fruitful discussion with Ambassador HE @SidiqueWai and his dynamic team on empowering our youth and expanding opportunities in the United States for the participants. As Youth Envoy, I am always delighted to connect Sierra Leonean Youths to the right resources globally.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 11 Sierra Leoneans were chosen to serve in the United States as Young African Leaders under the 2023 Nelson Mandela Washington Fellowship program. The Mandela Washington Fellowship is the flagship program of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) and embodies the U.S. commitment to invest in the future of Africa.<\/p>\n

Ebunoluwa Tengbe, Jeremiah Thoronka, Hajaratu Sama, Ahmed Sheriff, Ambalieu Barrie, Janet Kallon, Rugiatu Kanu, Alex Nallo Junior, Bashiru Koroma, Florence Roberts, and Jeneba Mary-Magdalene Saidu join other 700 leaders from across Africa who will be hosted in leadership institutes by 28 U.S. educational institutions in 20 states and the District of Columbia.<\/p>\n

The six-week Institutes, hosted by college and university campuses across the United States, will support the development of Fellows\u2019 leadership skills through academic study, workshops, mentoring, networking with U.S. leaders, and collaboration with members of the local community<\/p>\n
