Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>Sierra Leone national football team coach, John Keister revealed in an interview that one of his biggest challenges as Leone Stars coach was the inability to play at home (National Stadium).<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cThree years in charge and look at the results I had despite all my games were played away and compare those to the games we played at home,\u201d Keister said.<\/p>\n

Keister said Sierra Leone was able to get good results from matches played at home. He mentioned that most of the matches played away from home resulted in losses for the Leone Stars including the Ivory Coast and Gabon matches.<\/p>\n

He urged football loving fans to conpare his statistics and how he has helped the Leone Stars get stabilised results during his tenure.<\/p>\n

\u201cNon of my matches were played at home and if you (locals) check the statistics they will be able see the percentage of matches won due to home advantage,\u201d the Leone Stars coach said.<\/p>\n

He added that Leone Stars could have qualified had they played half of the matches at the National Stadium in Freetown.<\/p>\n

The Sierra Leone national team have been playing home matches away from the country due to renovation works at the National Stadium.<\/p>\n

The Leone Stars failed to qualify for the AfCON Tournament next year after failing to beat Nigeria in Monrovia in June this year.<\/p>\n

Keister\u2019s contract is expected to run out by the end of the year with Sierra Leone FA announcing that the former Walsall player will be in charge of the Leone Stars final match against Guinea Bissau.<\/p>\n
