Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>The National Chairman of Sierra Leone\u2019s main opposition All People\u2019s Congress (APC), Minkailu Mansaray has intimated that his party will not subdue to any plea from the ruling Government unless their demands are met.<\/p>\n

Exclusive Newspaper reported that the Chairman made this stance in a meeting held at the party\u2019s headquarters on Old Railway Line in Brookfields, Freetown.<\/p>\n

The Chairman said the government made attempts to negotiate with them following the aftermath of the US Ambassador David Reimer interview. The National Chairman said his party is still calling on the release of the disaggregated data by polling stations.<\/p>\n

He said they will continue their boycott of government and governance. Mansaray said they will only negotiate with the SLPP after an independent investigation into the June 24 elections.<\/p>\n

The main opposition refused to accept results released by the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) on the 24 June multitier election. The results saw the incumbent Julius Maada Bio winning the first round and the APC losing seats in their strongholds.<\/p>\n

Bio, on the other hand, extended an olive branch to the APC minutes after he was sworn-in to continue his second term as President of the West African nation. However, recent developments have suggested that the stalemate will continue between the government and the main opposition.<\/p>\n
