Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>The Union Cabinet of India, under the leadership of Prime Minister, has approved the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of India and the Ministry of Information and Communications of Sierra Leone.<\/p>\n

The MoU, set to come into effect immediately upon signing, marks a major step in fostering cooperation between the two nations in the realm of digital transformation.<\/p>\n

The primary aim of this MoU is to facilitate the exchange of successful digital solutions implemented at a population scale. India, with its pioneering initiative known as \u201cINDIA STACK,\u201d has been at the forefront of digital transformation, and Sierra Leone seeks to leverage India\u2019s expertise in this field.<\/p>\n

The collaboration intends to bring about improved cooperation, which could lead to employment opportunities in the IT sector.<\/p>\n

The scope of this agreement extends to both Government-to-Government (G2G) and Business-to-Business (B2B) cooperation in the domain of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI). The expenses for the activities outlined in the MoU will be covered through the regular operating budgets of the respective administrations.<\/p>\n

India\u2019s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has been actively engaging with various countries and multilateral agencies to promote cooperation in the information and communication technology (ICT) domain. This aligns with India\u2019s broader vision of digital empowerment, as reflected in initiatives like Digital India and Atmanirbhar Bharat.<\/p>\n

The MoU is set to remain in force for a period of 3 years, during which both nations will work together closely to achieve their digital transformation goals.<\/p>\n
