Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>In an interview, the Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah has assured the general public that there will be no re-run of the 2023 general elections.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

He said our politics is supposed to be peaceful and engaging with each other, l have respect for Dr. Samura Kamara and others at APC, that is the foundation we are trying to lay. This Country belongs to us all, we can disagree without being disagreeable.<\/p>\n

In answering to a question from the comments during the interview on a possible re-run of the general elections, he replied by saying \u201cI will assure the people of this country that the election has been run, the time for the election has been exhausted completely, we have a winner who was His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio, we have a Parliament that is functioning, and we have a cabinet so nothing is going to change, that is the fact, if anyone tells you otherwise, I say, you are being misled and it is my job to give you that information and I have promised to be truthful to you.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven if you listen to Dr. Samura Kamara\u2019s speech in his press conference there was no mention of him running for election, even Dr. Samura Kamara was talking about dialogue with the Government which tells you there is a government.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will continue to have this conversation about who does this how we will engage and how we will make things better for the people of this country the conversations with the international partners were to make sure that the mistakes that happened today will not repeated in the future.<\/p>\n

\u201cThose who are calling on the publication of the results need to understand two important things before I leave here, one is that there had been no election in the past that ECSL was asked to publish what people are asking them to publish.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe results are published at all the polling stations and APC say they have the results, and they should publish them if they have but they did not because the rules are clear the other things that people need to understand are that before the election, commonwealth, Dr. Samura Kamara and President Bio signed to a process which includes certain rules set and those rules don\u2019t include what they are asking the ECSL of, ECSL did not violate any rules so it is good for people to understand this which is one and two, all that people are asking for is an extra against the law that has been compiled.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven those on social media who had been talking about it have stopped because the Law was complied with fully.\u201d<\/p>\n
